In today's episode of the CameraCouple, the duo scouts northwestern South Carolina to see if it's a place they'd like to live. Do they find their perfect spot? Will they freeze when the temperature dips? Will they drink "soda"? I can tell you, the answer is "yes" to at least one of those questions!

A lot of people have been asking now that we finished all 50 states if we are still roaming around, and we absolutely are, but our recent trips have a bit more intention to them...  For Christmas in 2022, Rose found an awesome deal on a couple inflatable paddleboards online. And by "awesome deal" I mean we barely paid for them! As many of you might know, Christmas time is a cold time of year. So we didn't get to try out our new adventure toys until the weather got a bit warmer. But finally, it was time! And we were determined to try out our new paddleboards. After a few attempts, at least...  The final month of another year traveling the beautiful country. We couldn't just end at home, now could we? I was planning to take a maritime course in Gulfport for work, so what better way than to camp our way down south to the Gulf for the month?  A free week with nothing to do? Okay, it wasn't free (we worked the whole time), but who needs a reason to run off on a camping trip!? Certainly not us! This time, the Camera Couple is off to Georgia for another whirlwind adventure.   Well... It's been a little while, but your favorite Camera Couple is back at trying to catch up the world on their travels. Living and working on the road is a wonderful time, but it does leave a lot of room for "I'll get to that later..." aka these blogs. With the main 2022 goal being our three-month cross country trip, we decided to take it easy and do longer trips less frequent leading up to our summer trip, whereas last year we were camping almost every weekend. February was an east coast swing starting in Georgia and making our way to Alabama and then over to Florida and ending in South Carolina for Cameron's birthday. It was the perfect working on the road test for this summer.
We're back! After a few restful weeks and celebrating Cameron's 30th birthday with family we were headed back to our home away from home. Every year since we got our little Coleman (R.I.P.) we have headed down to Georgia to Elijah Clark State Park around Cameron's birthday.  The weekend was free. Where do we run!? We had spent all winter cooped up in the house, huddled under blankets, dreaming of the day that we can once again use the truck and trailer we have been paying for neglected out in the yard. Finally the time had come. We had taken the Monday off from work for a three day weekend. So where do we go? Rain was in the forecast for the Carolinas. To the South and East: rain. To the North and West: ice. It seemed as if the first camping trip of 2019 was off to a rough start. If we aimed right, there was a small triangle in Georgia that had a lesser chance for rain. We took the shot.  |
