After our trip to Boston and seeing how Harpoon does it, we decided to see what breweries were around NC. We always just go to Pintville which has a ton of local beers on tap. This time we wanted to go to the source. Sycamore brewing is located just outside of the city in Charlotte. They took their brewery and storage warehouse and added an indoor bar and sitting area. Just like many of the other breweries we have been to in NC, Sycamore did not serve any food at all. They have food trucks that rotate outside in the parking lot which is nice if you want a wide variety of food. Plus I'm sure it's wonderful for Sycamore because they don't have to deal with crazy health department rules! Another trend I have seen in North Carolina is breweries and bars being very dog friendly! Rose and I love this trend. What's better than having a cold beer on the weekend? Having a cold beer while petting tons of puppies! Actually the craziest thing about this specific brewery is that they have live music, open to close, Thursday through Sunday. That's a lot of bands! When we went there was a 4 piece rock band that had an upright bass player which automatically makes them great in my book. All in all it was a fun place to hang out. There were a lot of people there but there was also a ton of seating and two different bars, one outside and on inside so the lines were never long (except for the bathroom...) and there was always plenty of seating. Even if you are antisocial like me and Rose, it doesn't matter how busy they are, you will usually be able to find a secluded place to sit and enjoy your time listening to the many bands. No two experiences there will be the same.
On our way out Rose tried to grab some extra beer straight from the holding container... We couldn't find the valve to open it...
